Year 13 pupil, Sebastian Morgan has signed a professional contract with Middlesex Cricket Club, the first Winchester College pupil to do so during their time at the school.
Sebastian, a Winchester College Sports Scholar, first joined the Middlesex Club as part of the under 12s county age group set and made his debut for the club’s Second Eleven in 2023, making six appearances across both Second Eleven formats.
He was then called up to the England Under 19 squad in late 2023, where he made his Under 19 ODI debut against Bangladesh in a quadrangular series in India, followed by an appearance in England’s Under 19 World Cup campaign and two further international appearances against Ireland Under 19s.
For the College, Sebastian has played in the school First XI and Under 17 sides since his first year at the school, primarily as a quick opening bowler, but in the last two seasons has developed into the Number 3 batsman and opening bowler. His contribution, desire and commitment to the College teams has been unwavering.
Speaking on Sebastian’s achievements, Winchester College's cricket coach, Paul Gover said:
“Over the last year, Sebastian has achieved some incredible things, and this most recent one is the culmination of his hard work, determination and talent. To accomplish these things while maintaining his academic workload is a testament to his dedication.
"His innings in the Under 17 Quarter Final in 2023 when we were chasing a very large total, was as high a quality as I have seen at that level, and enabled us to progress through to both the semi-final and then the final, and I look forward to more success in his last year at the school as Lords Captain.
"We are all very proud of him and look forward to watching his inevitable future success.”
