Congratulations to Gabriel O. (JP, Toye's ) who was selected for the ISFA U14 national squad for their matches against Essex Schools and Chelsea FC. Gabriel was awarded Man of the Match against Chelsea scoring a brace and two assists.
Cross-country training last Saturday took pupils through the flooded watermeadows and across to Winnall Moors Nature Reserve. Any parents keen to see their children running may be interested in the Inter House Relays next Thursday, 26 January or the home fixture on 16 March. Full details in the Sports Calendar.
Outreach

Lashings of Ginger Beer, based on Enid Blyton’s Famous Five characters, was performed at the Theatre Royal Winchester in the first week of January. Blue Apple is an inspirational charity, which transforms the lives of adults with learning difficulties.

CCF
On Wednesday 11 January, Major Thorne officially stepped down as Contingent Commander. Major Thorne gave an emotional speech in which he thanked the staff and cadets for their support. Major Thorne has been with the CCF for four years; previously as head of Army section. His wealth of knowledge has been a strong asset to the CCF.
On parade in War Cloister, Major Thorne saluted and handed over command to Major Szwajkowski, previously head of Royal Marines section. Major Szwajkowski addressed the CCF, saying that his door was always open to any cadet who needed help.
