This past Sunday, 17 cadets and 10 staff took part in the Remembrance Service Parade. Contingent Commander Major Szwajkowski and Heads of Sections, assisted by Head of Corps Cadet WO2 Alex (I), led the Parade of Colours in the march to Chapel where the service was held.
During the service, the Colours were laid at the altar, the Reading was given by Jamie (I), and the pages of the Roll of Honour for the Wykehamists killed in the First and Second World Wars were turned. The National Anthem was sung, followed by the Procession out.
Following the service, the Parade formed up and marched across to the War Cloister for 11am, where a two-minute silence was observed and the last post was played. The Dean of Chapel gave a blessing, and a wreath was laid.
There are biographies and photographs of members of the College who perished in both World Wars, and in conflicts dating from 1782 to 1990, on the website Winchester College at War, which you can view via the link below.
